Hart Alarm

                                                        November 2007

Dear Valued Customer:

THANK YOU for your continued patronage and for recommending HART ALARM SYSTEMS whenever anyone mentions security and/or alarm systems. You know that when they talk to Ken or Steven they will never feel pressured to buy, or even more important, be oversold on what is needed for protection.

Even though FIRE PREVENTION WEEK has passed, I want to repeat several potential life saving tips from previous monthly inserts. Keeping in mind we may be sleeping when a fire breaks out, we should have a well thought out evacuation plan for our home. Be sure each family member knows at least two escape routes to follow when told to leave and where to gather outside. Having a designated gathering spot is very important. Going back into a fire looking for a missing child, spouse or parent is one of the leading causes of fatalities in household fires.

With Thanksgiving and the Christmas season just around the corner, here is our annual word to the wise favor we ask you to pass on to your friends without alarm systems. They could have a system operating in their homes before the holidays if they call the office now. Over the holiday shopping season there is an increase in home burglaries because just about every home will have a number of expensive gifts casually stacked somewhere waiting to be wrapped or delivered. Burglars know it and that is when they strike.

This is also the time of year when more unwanted alarms/dispatches occur. The reasons usually follow a similar pattern of unfamiliarity with the alarm system’s operation. If you are going to have someone other than a resident coming in to housesit or check the house in your absence, water the plants, etc., please take the time to show them how to arm & disarm the system. Be sure to tell them how to respond to the central station’s call to avoid unnecessary police dispatch. They have to know the password or we can set up a temporary one just for their use.

For some time now we have been advising you to call the office if you are considering doing away with your traditional "hard-wired" telephone service and switching to wireless service.

In order for us to continue monitoring your security system, there may be additional hardware/software required. So please call Ken or Steve before you decide and discuss your options.
