Dear Valued Customer:

THANK YOU for your continued patronage and for recommending HART ALARM SYSTEMS whenever the subject of security is brought up in conversation.  We all know there are just two sources of new customers, people who know us and people who don’t know us. A referral from a satisfied customer is a big first step.

For the past several months I have commented on the efforts of wireless phone companies to have subscribers do away with their “hard wired” traditional phone service.  There are two (2) alternatives to the traditional residential plain old telephone service (POTS).

1)  Use the Internet for phone service (VOIP), the

most popular are Time Warner, Vonage

or Verizon’s DSL service.  If you choose one

of these services, your alarm will not transmit

it’s signals if there is a power outage.  The

alarm will function and sound but will not be

able to connect to the central station because

the telephone network will be down.  The

alarm may also require filters or

reprogramming to function on these digital

      networks.  All alarm digital dialers

were designed to work on the old Analog

      Network.

2)  Use cell phones only.  No hardwired

telephone line in the home.  The alarm will not

be able to transmit information to the central

      station.

If you choose either option or stay with your existing POTS line we have solutions and additional benefits for you.  The most popular solution is called ALARM.COM.  This unit uses radio to transmit signals to the central station.  So even if there is no power or no phone line, the alarm signals are transmitted.  This system is also linked to the Web so you can get detailed history of alarm activity, change codes, arm or disarm and control lights.  The system can email or page you on normal or emergency events.  For a demonstration log on to www.hartalarm.com and click on Learn More About Alarm.Com.

So please, if you are thinking of making a change, give the office a call and talk to either Steve or Ken to determine what your system will require.
